After civilian killings, Nagaland Assembly passes resolution to repeal AFSPA from the North East #IndiaNEWS
The Nagaland Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a resolution demanding that the Centre withdraws the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act from the North East, and especially from Nagaland.The resolution was passed in condemnation of the killing of 14 civilians by security forces in the state’s Mon district earlier this month. In a first information report, the Nagaland Police had said that the Army’s 21 Para Special Force had fired with “intention to murder and injureâ€? the civilians.On Monday, the Nagaland Assembly passed the resolution unanimously, which means that Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs of the state also supported it.
