People occupy 2BHK houses before allocation in Manthani #IndiaNEWS #News
Peddapalli: Commotion prevailed in Manthani town, when people began occupying the two bedroom houses being constructed by the Government, even before the construction was completed and allotments made. Alarmed over the occupation of the houses, authorities moved in to get the houses vacated on Wednesday.
The government is building 94 double bedroom houses at Pochammawada in Manthani town. The houses are yet to get electricity and water supply and the contractor had not yet handed over the houses to the government. However, twenty persons occupied some houses on Tuesday night claiming that a local politician had asked them to do by handing over the keys to them. As the word spread, some of the beneficiaries had also moved into the houses under construction by breaking open the locks. Some had even shifted their household articles.
After coming to know about the development Tahsildar Bandi Prakash rushed to the spot and asked people to vacate houses since the houses were not yet completed. He explained to them that the contractor had not yet handed over the houses to the Government. The Government would allot houses to beneficiaries after completion of all pending works, the Tahsildar informed.
