Telangana IHFMS: Agencies owned by SC owners to be given priority #IndiaNEWS #Hyderabad
Hyderabad: To provide better opportunities for entrepreneurs from the Scheduled Caste (SC) community, the State government has decided to provide reservations for agencies belonging to persons from SC community in contracts related to providing diet and implementing Integrated Hospital Facility Management Services (IHFMS) in government hospitals in Telangana.
Accordingly, Secretary, Health, Medical and Family Welfare, SAM Rizvi in a Government Order (Go Ms No 32), said that 16 per cent reservation in government hospitals will be provided to agencies owned by individuals from the SC community, which will be applicable in hospitals with up to 500 beds.
As part of these efforts, hospitals will be divided into two categories Category A hospitals with bed strength of less than 100 while category B hospitals will have bed strength of more than 100 beds.
There are 122 government hospitals with bed strength of less than 100 beds out of which 20 hospitals, which is 16 per cent, will be allocated to agencies owned by SC persons. There are a total of 53 government hospitals with bed strength between 100 and 500 beds out of which 8 hospitals (16 per cent) will be set-aside for agencies that are managed by SC candidates.
The specific hospitals to be reserved in each category will be selected by transparent drawal of lots. Minimum turnover requirement for reserved hospital shall be relaxed by 50 per cent for agencies belonging to persons from SC community. In reserved hospitals even single bid received from agencies belonging to persons from SC community will be considered.
In case there is no response from agencies belonging to SC persons even after second call, for subsequent bids the reserved hospitals will be opened for receiving bids from all agencies, the GO said.
Important points:
1. Agencies owned by SC community will be given priority
2. 16 per cent of the hospitals with beds below 500 to be allocated to SC individuals
3. Agencies will be responsible for diet and implementing Integrated Hospital Facility Management Services (IHFMS)
4. IHFMS entails patient care, sanitation, security and pest control services in all government hospitals
5. Specific hospitals to be reserved for SC category will be selected through lottery
