Hyderabad: Nidhi Shyamal is in the lead with six points from as many rounds in the junior’s category of the 190th Brilliant Trophy chess tournament on Sunday.
Gowtham Rammoorthy and Darsith Manoj Nair are in the second joint lead with five points each in six rounds. Meanwhile, in the open category Arvind Iyer took the lead with 5.5 points out of six rounds.
Results (Round-6): Junior’s: K Avaneesh (4.5) lost to Nidhi Shyamal (6); Gowtham Rammoorthy (5) bt Adhyayan Banerjee (4.5); Rounak Jakhotia (4) lost to Darsith Manoj Nair (5); Shreyan Bag (4.5) drew with A Pranav Karthik (4.5); Siva Bhargav (4.5) bt Arnav Garlapati (3.5); Open category: Kartavya Anadkat (5) drew with Arvind Iyer (5.5); P Satyanarayana (4) lost to KVK Karthik (5); Shreyas (3.5) lost to J Malleswara Rao (4.5); Natura Bethi (3) lost to Samrath J Rao (4); Rohith Yadav (4) bt Vijay Babu (3.5).
