Rich tributes paid to Mallu Swarajyam, her body donated to medical college #IndiaNEWS #Nalgonda
Nalgonda: Several leaders and citizens paid tributes to veteran Communist leader Mallu Swarajyam at CPI(M) office at Nalgonda to enable the public pay their last respects. As per her last wish, the body was donated to the Government Medical College of Nalgonda.
Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, Zilla Parishad chairman Banda Narender Reddy, MLAs N Bhasker Rao, Chirumathi Lingaiah, Kancherla Bhupal Reddy, Nomula Bhagath and Gadari Kishore, Congress leader Ramreddi Damodhar Reddy and Suryapet municipal chairperson Perumalla Annapurna Srinivas were among those who paid tributes to the late Communist leader.
Speaking on the occasion, Gutha Sukender Reddy said that the spirit of fight shown by Swarajyam during Telangana Armed Struggle which inspired many people to participate in the Telangana statehood agitation. She had also served the people of Thungathurthy Assembly constituency as MLA. She would remain in the hearts of the people forever, he added.
Jagadish Reddy said Swarajyam was an icon of Telangana Armed Struggle, who had waged relentless fight for change in the society throughout her life.
Thousands of people from Nalgonda and Suryapet districts arrived at Nalgonda to pay their tributes to Mallu Swarajyam. The premises of CPI(M) office reverberated with slogans of Mallu Swarajyam Amar Rahe.
At 4 pm, the body of Mallu Swarajyam was shifted to Government Medical College of Nalgonda in an ambulance to fulfill her wish that her body should be donated to the medical college.
Earlier, Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, MLC K Kavitha and other leaders visited Makineni Basavapunnaiah Bhavan at RTC Crossroads here on Sunday and paid tributes to Mallu Swarajyam, who died while undergoing treatment in a corporate hospital on Saturday night. The leaders also extended condolences to the family members of Swarajyam.
