JAMMU, Mar 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today declared that the Government is committed to destroy entire system of terrorism and corruption in Jammu and Kashmir and make the Union Territory a developed society. Without naming Pakistan, he lauded the BSF for thwarting neighbours conspiracies on the borders.
He was addressing the attestation-cum-passing out parade of 636 newly recruited BSF personnel at the Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) at Udhampur.
The Lieutenant Governor, who took salute at the march past, said the decades-old terror ecosystem needs to be dismantled completely.

Without naming Pakistan, he said India has always desired to live with peace and mutual harmony with its neighbours but, at the same time, We are ready to give a befitting response if someone wants to test us.
Drug addiction is also a big challenge. Drugs are smuggled by Pakistan under a conspiracy. You have to play a big role to check the smuggling of drugs, Sinha said addressing the BSF jawans.
Appreciating the role of the security forces for bravely facing various challenges, including infiltration attempts and smuggling of weapons and narcotics from across the border, the Lieutenant Governor hoped that they will continue to meet challenges to protect borders of the nation.
He said the BSF with efficient mechanisms and response system is fully prepared to meet the challenges of terrorism and narco-terror threats that come from across the borders, a reference towards Pakistan.
Sinha lauded immense contribution and sacrifices of the BSF for ensuring peace and order in Jammu and Kashmir and saluted the brave soldiers and officers who laid down their lives in ensuring border security and protecting sovereignty and integrity of the country.
The BSF has made significant contributions in fighting terrorism and instability with valour and determination, he said, adding the BSF has always served the people of border villages in times of crisis with selfless spirit.
Jammu and Kashmir is full of diversity, which is our strength. We have faced all the challenges successfully and our security forces are alert. They have played a pivotal role in building a new Jammu and Kashmir by thwarting the anti-national elements, he said.
Sinha urged the fresh BSF recruits to live up to the tradition and expectation of the force and the people, and perform their duties with professionalism so that no enemy can violate the countrys borders.
