Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar, 46, passed away today afternoon after suffering from a heart attack today while working out at a gym. He was rushed to the hospital after he complained of chest pain. He was admitted to Intensive care Unit (ICU) Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru.
According to a statement issued by Vikram Hospital, Rajkumar was non-responsive when brought in and was in cardiac asystole.
His body is to be kept at Kanteerava stadium for people to pay homage.

A large number of fans gathered outside Vikram hospital in Bengaluru on hearing the news of the actors hospitalisation. Bangalore has been put on high alert. Security is beefed up around Vikram hospital and Kanteerava stadium.
Puneeth is the youngest son of Kannada cinema legend Dr Rajkumar. Popularly known as the Powerstar, Puneeth Rajkumar was a beloved superstar who had recently made foray as a film producer.
