Arrest of Manish Sisodia – What is Wrong? #WorldNEWSAll
The Aam Admi Party (AAP) to which Sisodia belongs, has alleged that this was an act of political vendetta by the BJP.
Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, has been arrested by the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation ) on charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act, criminal conspiracy in connection with a liquorgate scam, and for money laundering and falsifying/destroying evidence.
The Aam Admi Party (AAP) to which Sisodia belongs, has alleged that this was an act of political vendetta by the BJP which is in power in the centre.
AAP is organising demonstrations against Sisodias arrest.
I would not like to comment on all this, as the investigation is still going on. However, it has to be said that no one, however high he may be, is above the law.
There are several serious allegations against Sisodia e.g. that he benefited and got huge kick backs from the South Group (the big liquor businessmen), money laundering, falsification/destroying accounts, Sim cards, and phones.
Sisodia was questioned by the CBI for 8 hours, and was confronted with the material against him, but according to the CBI he was non cooperative and gave evasive replies.

Sisodia was confronted with a statement of his private secretary C. Aravind, but he again gave an evasive reply. It is alleged that he and his associates caused a loss of Rs 9000 crores to the public exchequer. It is also alleged that the commission was raised to 12% to earn money illegally by the backdoor
It is alleged that the effort was to convert Delhi into a Sharaab Nagari (liquor city) to make huge profits.
These are very serious allegations, and cannot be simply brushed away by saying it is political vendetta.
I am no supporter of the BJP, but one cannot condone the misdeeds of politicians, however high they may be, merely because they are opposing the BJP.
