Gang planning to kill Telangana Minister Srinivas Goud nabbed #IndiaNEWS #Hyderabad
Hyderabad: An attempt by the suspects in the alleged assassination conspiracy against Excise and Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud, to escape by taking shelter in a politicians servant quarters did not help them, with the Cyberabad Police managing to track them down in just under three days.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner M.Stephen Raveendra said the suspects, who had learned about the Petbasheerabad police intensifying the probe in to the case, had fled from Hyderabad to Delhi via Visakhapatnam and were taking shelter in the servant quarters of a former MP associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
As the Petbasheerabad police began digging deeper into the case and identifying the links, the suspects had fled from the city to Mahabubnagar and after changing various locations including Visakhapatnam, reached Delhi.
“After reaching Delhi, they contacted the former MP’s personal staff, who arranged them shelter in the servant quarters itself. On establishing their links in the case and analyzing the call data record, we traced their location,� Raveendra said.
We then served a notice under Section 167 of the CrPC and took them into custody, with the help of the local police, he said.
Meanwhile, police are verifying the antecedents of Farooq, who is the complainant in the case, with investigation so far showing that he has criminal history and was involved in similar offences.
Minister Srinivas Goud, who is accompanying the Chief Minister in New Delhi, is being appraised of the developments, police said.
