One more held in Nizamabad jewellery shop theft case #IndiaNEWS #Nizamabad
Hyderabad: The Nizamabad police on Wednesday arrested an inter-State property offender on charges of stealing gold and silver ornaments from SK jewellery shop in the town a few months ago. The police recovered 41 per cent of the total stolen gold jewellery, 4.17 kgs of silver articles, a bike, a laptop and three mobile phones, all worth over Rs.27.20 lakh from the possession of the arrested person identified as Jaisaram Chowdary (29), an electrician from Junjani village in Jaloor district of Rajasthan.
Nizamabad Police Commissioner KR Nagaraju, addressing a press conference, said Jaisaram was earlier involved in property offences in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Jasiram came in contact with Bharat, who used to work in SK jewellery shop, after the latter went to his native place in Rajasthan during lockdown last year. After collecting details from Bharat, Jasiram hatched a plan to steal gold and silver ornaments from the shop. A few days after Bharat returned to the town, Jasiram also came and met him. In August 2021, he had stolen gold and silver ornaments, and net cash with the help of Bharat.
The police arrested Bharat within a few days after the incident and remanded him to judicial custody. Based on a tip off, the police arrested Jasiram in Thane in Maharashtra and brought him to the town.
Four held
In a separate incident, the district police arrested four persons – Balu, Lakshma Reddy, Tirupati Reddy and Pawan Kalyan- for allegedly indulging in gaming activity. Four mobile phones and Rs.21,770 in cash were recovered from the possession of the arrested persons.
